By Knight Edmonds are pleased to announce the sale of 14 acres of land surrounding the lake at Mote Park in Maidstone. The sale has been agreed between Maidstone Borough Council and The Trump Organization and its subsidiary, Trump Hotels (officially Trump International Hotels Management LLC).
In this landmark sale the historic deal has been facilitated by the team at Knight Edmonds following a year of negotiations and will raise £20m for the cash-strapped Maidstone Borough Council.
Mr President Donald Trump has today announced his intention to submit a full planning application to build a 5-Star 52-bedroom luxury hotel on the site, complete with heated swimming pools, a health spa, two bars available for private hire, a fine-dining restaurant, and an 18-hole private members-only golf course to be built on the surrounding land.
On announcing the sale, a spokesperson for Maidstone Borough Council stated their planning department has already seen sight of the plans and, subject to technical details, it is to be recommended for approval, in order that the deal can proceed smoothly.
The economic boost to the area is expected to be considerable, although many local Maidstone residents – particularly those in Shepway and Downswood – are already seeking property valuations from Maidstone Estate Agents to assess the impact of the project on their property prices.
